FlowFix mobile app
FlowFix, a service that connects home repair professionals with customers, has already achieved its design. The service offers a secure framework to search for home repair professionals, allowing to schedule the appointment and complete the transaction through the same app.
The Problem
People who have recently moved out on their own, and are not accustomed to home maintenance, are faced with the situation of not knowing where to contact trusted professionals to perform this task for them. This need sometimes leads them to fall for scams or even put themselves at risk by trusting strangers without a reference.
Our Approach
We decided to approach the project with caution, putting user safety first. Considering the high percentage of people who go to live on their own, they are young university students who study or work most of the day. The goal was to create a simple app that would allow finding professionals in the area while providing a transparent and secure experience for the user. For this, we needed to apply research-based processes with a user-centric approach.
Our Solution
Based on the insights detected in previous research, we created a simple and intuitive app that not only allowed users to find professionals in their area, but also to compare reviews and send direct messages through the app. We also incorporated an appointment scheduling feature to remember the day and time of the professional's visit.

The Process
We made sure to get to know the users and their needs thoroughly by conducting in-depth research. With the information gathered, we were able to start working on the first approximations of the design and test it.
The design evolved and we conducted two usability studies at different stages of the design. With a user-centered approach, we were able to extract insights from each of these studies that allowed us to arrive at the best version for the users.
The Result
Since the FlowFix app offers a secure search and contact channel, the app itself is intuitive and objective, and is conceptualized to make the processes simple and reliable. Although complex, the app is highly functional, clear, and intuitive, with security features that enable a verified and supported exchange of services.
