Dinako website

Dinako, a local, and independent skateboard company, already has its design. The store offers items for skateboard enthusiasts and professionals, but it also offers clothing and accessories that the company produces on its own.

The Problem

Online skateboard stores often present their content in a “chaotic” way, somewhat overloaded due to a lack of organization. Bad design decisions result in clumsy, slow, and unintuitive navigation. New users may feel somewhat confused in this context, not knowing where to start.

Our Approach

We decided to approach the project by prioritizing tasks. Considering that more than 55% of users will access the internet through mobile devices, designing a responsive website was essential. The goal was to make the site intuitive and search-friendly. For this, we needed to apply research-based processes that would increase the probability of user success.

Our Solution

Inspired by the defiant and youthful attitude of its audience, we created a simple and intuitive-to-navigate site using vibrant colors in contrast with black and white images and well-defined spaces for clarity and order of elements. We also innovated with a unique customization process with an instant preview.

The Process

We ensure that our approach is correct by conducting in-depth user research. With the information collected, we were able to make the necessary corrections to focus the design in the best way.

The design evolved, and we conducted three usability studies at different stages of the design. With a user-centered approach, we were able to extract insights from each of these studies that allowed us to arrive at the best version for the users.

The Result

Since the Dinako store offers a selection of products aimed at a youthful audience, the store itself is visually appealing but simple, and is conceptualized to highlight the products and the details of the selected pieces. Although extensive, the web store is very functional, clear, and intuitive, with unique features.

“I'm thrilled with the website! It captures our vision and the customization process sets it apart.”

— Ryan M., Dinako Owner.
